How to Dress for Different Body Sizes


Dressing up can be fun and enjoyable if you know what kind of body shape and type you have and you know which clothes will flatter your body. Knowing what your body type is just the key to everything. The easiest way is to do this is to look in the mirror. Otherwise, what you can do is take out the tape measure and measure your body.

Having a triangle body shape means that you have a slender upper body with a full hips and a trim waist. Think about using layers at the top or wear cropped jackets. A-line cut dresses will also work for you.

Those with circle body shapes usually have full figure with slender legs and a slight shoulders. Draped fabrics work best for this body type and if you have great legs, don’t be afraid to flaunt them.

Women with hourglass figure have slim waist, ample bossom and curvy hips that everyone is dying for. If you have this body type, keep your look simple. Pencil skirts will accentuate your curves and so does skinny jeans. For dresses, choose one that naturally follow your curves.

Ruler body shape women are often the athletics ones. If you have this body type, choose clothes that will create curves. Halter tops will be perfect for you so does tank tops with small straps. As for your bottoms, try the high-waist pants or wide leg trousers.

If you have an inverted triangle shaped body then most likely your top is bigger than your bottom. V-necks works best for this body type. You can wear wide long skirts or a drop-waist dress.

Different body shapes have different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. It is up to you to use them to your advantage. When you choose clothes, do not just look at fashion. Also pay attention to the fit of the dress so you look good and feel good.
