Best Colors to Wear with Different Skin Tones

skin tones

Whether shopping for new clothes or trying to determine what to wear each morning, your skin tone plays a significant role in whatever it is that you don. Your skin tone is what determines which colors look the best on your body – do they complement you, or do they just make you look odd? Understanding, and knowing, what type of skin tone you have can help you not only get dressed, but to choose clothes that will look great no matter the season, lighting, or mood. The clothes you wear should not only flatter your body, but also highlight your skin. If you choose unwisely, you might appear washed out, pale, or even the same color as the fabrics you’re wearing. Here are the best colors to wear with a variety of skin tones and colors, in any weather.

Fair, Pale, and Light-Skinned

If you’re someone whose skin color is pale, you aren’t going to want to dive into dark colors and sparkling metallic shades. Instead, accent and highlight your very light skin tone by turning to soft and gentle colors like pastels, a classic tan, or even white. If you want a more adventurous, or brighter, look you can consider clothing in jewel tones – deep purples, bright and dark pinks, or emerald and gold-ish yellow.

Bronzed and Tanned

Do you have a skin tone that lies between pale and dark? If you’re a medium skin tone, a tan or bronzed type, your clothing color options are quite varied. Metallic fabrics in shades of silver, gold, and copper will make your skin sparkle just like your outfits. Pale shades of gray will also highlight your natural appearance, offering a gentle contrast; or, you can make a splash in bright and bold colors if you prefer to stand out. Tan skin tones can wear highlighter brights very well, and shine in colors like bold cobalt blue or neon pink.

Cocoa and Deeply Dark

Those with darker complexions aren’t limited at all in their clothing color choices. In fact, they are suited to wear pale, dark, and even bright colors in every shade of the rainbow. If you want to stand out, choose a brilliant and eye-catching red. Prefer to dress more subtly? Pastels, like pale yellow or soft blue, will also pop when placed against your skin.

Tips To Help Remove Wrinkles

Wrinkles

Wrinkles often come with age although there are certain situations that would cause it to appear prematurely. If you don’t like having wrinkles so much, there are ways that you can remove them or at least minimize its appearance.

Retinoids Treatment (including Retin A). This is a topical treatment for wrinkles. What the cream does is it repairs skin damage therefore reducing the appearance of fine lines on your face. It can also stimulate the blood vessels in your skin so it appears rosy.

Microdermabrasion. As opposed to dermabrasion which requires the help of a professional who could perform a non-chemical and a non invasive procedure. Microdermabrasion on the other hand can be done by anyone on themselves in the comfort of your own home. While dermabrasion is not very intrusive, microdermabrasion is far less intrusive! Microcrystals are sprayed into the skin and the outermost layer and the dead skin cells are then removed.

Glycolic acid peels. This is the use of chemical peels so the outer layer is removed. The product containing glycolic acid is applied on to your face and is then peeled off. This is another popular treatment for wrinkles so when the outer layer is removed, the fresh layer of skin is revealed.

Deep Chemical Peels is also another treatment in order to address a more serious imperfection like coarse wrinkles. The treatment is more uncomfortable and recovery is lengthy compared to chemical peels that are milder.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are also used in chemical peels giving the same results as undergoing microdermabrasion. It can remove fine wrinkles and surface scars.

Antioxidants. You can get them by eating fruits and vegetables or you can apply topical treatment that contains antioxidants. What it does is it reduces the damage caused by the sun or pollution. Age, diseases or the use of irritating skin products can cause our skin to lose its ability to produce antioxidants and so it is important that we either get them from the food we eat or topically apply them on to our skin.

Benefits of Working Out at Home

home gym

Whether you’re someone who just dislikes the idea of sweating through a workout before an audience at a gym, or who prefers the peace, quiet, and privacy of their home, not everyone is a fan of packed gyms and their endless equipment. While there are many different benefits to joining a gym – impressive machines, personal trainers, and even group classes are all present at local gyms – they aren’t the ideal workout environment for each individual. Working out in your own home doesn’t have to be a bad idea; in fact, you can get an equally excellent workout in whether in your bedroom, living room, or at a home gym.

Home Gyms Save Time and Money

When you work out at home, you don’t have to pay for a monthly membership – after all, it’s your home, and your equipment to use. You also won’t ever have to shell out more cash to take a class; instead, you can rely on workout videos and DVDs, or even step-by-step printables. Additionally, there’s no need to hop in your car and commute, as everything you need is right at your fingertips. You’ll save money on gas, reducing the amount of distance you have to travel every time you wish to work out.

You Can Exercise Whenever You’d Like

Many gyms are limited in their hours of operation. Although some 24 hour gyms do exist, they can get quite crowded during popular time – right after the workday ends, early in the mornings, and all day on weekends. Instead of fighting off crowds and scanning desperately for available equipment, or perhaps missing classes due to scheduling inconvenience, work out at home. When all of your equipment, your workout routines, and your space is available whenever you’d like to use it, you’ll find yourself making great use of your time and fitting in workouts more easily.

There’s No Need to Dress Up

Workout attire can get expensive, especially if you’re trying to look your best when working out among fit and attractive gym-goers. When you workout in the privacy and emptiness of your home, you don’t have to worry about what you wear – in fact, you can start sweating in an old, gross t-shirt or your underwear if you’d like. With no one there to impress, or to cover up for, you can work out in whatever state makes you most comfortable.

Strange Things To Keep In Your Handbag

Lipstick

Some of us really like a really small handbag where we carry only the essentials! However, there are those who much prefer much larger handbags and carry a few extras in there. And there are some who basically like everything in their bags including the kitchen sink. Ok, maybe too far, but here are some crazy/funny things some of us carry in our bags.

6 Different Colors Of Lipsticks

Most ladies carry at least one lipstick or lip balm in their purses, but there are some out there that basically carry around all the colors they own just in case they change and need to wear a different color lipstick.

Hair Spray

You never know when you may need hairspray. Even when you generally don’t wear hairspray. But this is actually a pretty common item found in handbags, well at least the larger bags. Strange because hairspray is usually very large and can be quite heavy, not a great combination for a hand bag.

Food / Snacks

Since we carry around these hand bags, why not use them as a lunch bag? They can actually be great for carrying around snacks or even a meal for when you need it. Just make sure you don’t leave your food in your hand bag and end up having a rather nasty and smelly bag.

Diapers

Ok, not so strange but it can look a little funny if you are not with your child and you drop your baby’s diaper out of your bag. Perhaps remove your diapers when your baby is not around to avoid these situations. Especially dirty diapers!

Drug Store

Some of us have a few things that we may need medication wise. But some seem to have an entire drug store in their purse. We all know someone like this at work, if you ever need anything, they are there. Some carry things such as pain killers, cold medicine, cough drops, sore throat lozenges, alcohol wipes, and any relevant medication.

Pepper Spray

I guess this one is only strange depending on the area you live. Be careful though if you are carrying pepper spray, you may not be able to enter government buildings or secure environments. Always keep this in mind and plan accordingly.

Healthy Snacks That Are Going To Keep You Looking Fit & Healthy

Veggies

Sometimes it is inevitable to start snacking or munching on foods. It’s not bad as long as the foods that we reach out for are healthy, will keep you full and will address your cravings at the same time. Here are some of our favorite snacks that you can eat without the guilt.

#1 Fruits. You can never go wrong with this healthy choice. Fruits can fill you up, satisfy your cravings for sugar but it will not load you with calories. If you are on-the-go, you may want to bring fruits like apples, pears or oranges that you can just wash and eat. Or if you have time, you can slice fruits and berries and make a salad that you can take with you at your office.

#2 Trail Mix. It is a combination of dried fruits and nuts that you can take with you anywhere you go and it’s ready to eat. Just get a serving of trail mix and put it in a ziplock bag or a small container and you’ll be good to go. This is perfect if you just want something too much while you’re writing an article or you’re doing errands but do not have time to sit down and grab a sandwich.

#3 Healthy Snack bars. Protein bars, energy bars, these are some of your options. You can either get one at your local grocery or make your own at home. Besides there are recipes available online. When you do get them from the store, pay attention to the amount of carbohydrates and sugar in that bar.

#4 Yogurt. A cup of yogurt is perhaps one of the easiest and healthiest snacks that you can just grab especially if you are craving for ice cream. Yogurts are rich in protein and you can even add your favorite fruit on top.

#5 Veggies. Slice a few carrots and celery sticks and dip them in hummus instead of those ready to eat dips that you get in the grocery store. These are great if you are craving for something crunchy and munchy.

What To Wear To Look Slim

Verticle stripes

You may be starting out a new exercise plan or a diet plan and sometimes the results are not as immediate as we want it to be. But it’s ok. If there are certain parts of your body that you are not comfortable about and you want to appear thinner, you can always do something with the clothes that you put on. That’s right, you can actually look slimmer depending on how you dress. Here are a few ideas to get you started today.

Use Well Fitting Underwear

You may think that underwear cannot be seen anyway, so why bother? On the contrary, your underwear is your foundation. The fact is, around 80% of women out there are wearing the wrong bra size. Keep in mind that a good fitting bra can make your waist appear more defined. If you are unsure of what your bra size is, have yourself fitted by a professional.

You can also consider investing on shape wears because they help smooth the unwanted bulges and it keeps everything in. No matter what dress you wear, you will know that you will look leaner.

Black Is Best

This is perhaps the most common advice that you hear but it really does work. Black can make you appear thinner and skinnier. You will also get the same effect if you wear dark colors aside from black like navy blue.

Vertical Stripes

Just like wearing black, donning clothes with vertical stripes is also one of the most common. Vertical stripes can make you longer as opposed to wearing horizontal stripes that can make you appear wider than you already are.

Go For Monochromes

Get this look by wearing the same color from top to bottom. This will make you look thinner because it draws attention from top to bottom instead of from side to side.

It’s All About The Fit

Always pay attention to how the clothes fit on your body. Do not force yourself into fitting into a size 4 if you are a size 8. Size is nothing but a number. Wearing clothes that are one size too small or too big will only make you look bad.

How to Dress for Different Body Sizes

Dress

Dressing up can be fun and enjoyable if you know what kind of body shape and type you have and you know which clothes will flatter your body. Knowing what your body type is just the key to everything. The easiest way is to do this is to look in the mirror. Otherwise, what you can do is take out the tape measure and measure your body.

Having a triangle body shape means that you have a slender upper body with a full hips and a trim waist. Think about using layers at the top or wear cropped jackets. A-line cut dresses will also work for you.

Those with circle body shapes usually have full figure with slender legs and a slight shoulders. Draped fabrics work best for this body type and if you have great legs, don’t be afraid to flaunt them.

Women with hourglass figure have slim waist, ample bossom and curvy hips that everyone is dying for. If you have this body type, keep your look simple. Pencil skirts will accentuate your curves and so does skinny jeans. For dresses, choose one that naturally follow your curves.

Ruler body shape women are often the athletics ones. If you have this body type, choose clothes that will create curves. Halter tops will be perfect for you so does tank tops with small straps. As for your bottoms, try the high-waist pants or wide leg trousers.

If you have an inverted triangle shaped body then most likely your top is bigger than your bottom. V-necks works best for this body type. You can wear wide long skirts or a drop-waist dress.

Different body shapes have different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. It is up to you to use them to your advantage. When you choose clothes, do not just look at fashion. Also pay attention to the fit of the dress so you look good and feel good.

How To Dress When You Have Stretch Marks

BeachMany women suffer from stretch marks. And while men suffer from stretch marks also, it seems to happen more often on women for reasons such as our breasts growing too quickly during puberty or pregnancy. Many of us don’t mind our stretch marks as they are nothing to be ashamed about and are a normal part of life. They are so common! However, there are also many women who do like to cover up their stretch marks as often as possible.

Sometimes it can be difficult to choose something to wear that covers up your stretch marks and looks good at the same time. This of course depends on where your stretch marks are and how severe they are.

Dresses

You can usually find the right dress for your stretch marks. If you have stretch marks on your upper arms, there are many dresses you can find which are a v – neck and have long sleeves. If you have stretch marks on your bust, you can still wear dresses which are sleeveless but they need to be higher in the bust area. It is more difficult to find a dress that suits those with stretch marks on their bust and upper arms. Often winter dresses are more appropriate here. It really depends on how comfortable you are with your stretch marks.

Bathing Suits

Now, when most of us who have stretch marks think of bathing suits, we think no way! And then we think, well ok maybe a full one piece suit. But they often don’t have any style. Is there another option for a bathing suit that will actually look good at the sametime as hiding stretch marks? Well yes there is. There are nice 2 piece suits that actually look great and hide your stretch marks. That is if you have stretch marks after pregnancy. The bottoms of these bathing suits are a fair bit higher than regular ones so it actually looks like a fashion statement rather than you are hiding something. This is a great option if you have looking for a 1 piece alternative.
