Some of us really like a really small handbag where we carry only the essentials! However, there are those who much prefer much larger handbags and carry a few extras in there. And there are some who basically like everything in their bags including the kitchen sink. Ok, maybe too far, but here are some crazy/funny things some of us carry in our bags.
6 Different Colors Of Lipsticks
Most ladies carry at least one lipstick or lip balm in their purses, but there are some out there that basically carry around all the colors they own just in case they change and need to wear a different color lipstick.
You never know when you may need hairspray. Even when you generally don’t wear hairspray. But this is actually a pretty common item found in handbags, well at least the larger bags. Strange because hairspray is usually very large and can be quite heavy, not a great combination for a hand bag.
Food / Snacks
Since we carry around these hand bags, why not use them as a lunch bag? They can actually be great for carrying around snacks or even a meal for when you need it. Just make sure you don’t leave your food in your hand bag and end up having a rather nasty and smelly bag.
Ok, not so strange but it can look a little funny if you are not with your child and you drop your baby’s diaper out of your bag. Perhaps remove your diapers when your baby is not around to avoid these situations. Especially dirty diapers!
Some of us have a few things that we may need medication wise. But some seem to have an entire drug store in their purse. We all know someone like this at work, if you ever need anything, they are there. Some carry things such as pain killers, cold medicine, cough drops, sore throat lozenges, alcohol wipes, and any relevant medication.
I guess this one is only strange depending on the area you live. Be careful though if you are carrying pepper spray, you may not be able to enter government buildings or secure environments. Always keep this in mind and plan accordingly.
The primary rule in fashion that will emphasize your assets and conceal your deficiencies is that you have to know your body type well. Your shape can be an apple, pear, wedge, rectangle, or hourglass. It can be a combination of any two or more of these shapes. Once you have identified your body shape, you can work around planning the types of clothes appropriate to your figure.
The key is that the garments you choose will make you achieve a balanced form, which is the neat hourglass shape, with the same proportions on the upper and lower parts and a narrower middle area.
Since you have the curves in the proper places, highlight those areas by wearing fitted clothes. How’s that wrap dress or a belted jacket as a fashion outfit? That will flatter your large bust and hip areas while drawing attention to your tiny waist. You can also don a crop top and a pencil skirt to achieve the same effect. Other options are skinny leg jeans or flowy pants with belt.
To accentuate your top and create an illusion of a curvy lower body, wear a flowy top or swing coat paired with jeans with pocket or A-line skirts or slacks. If you are into straight-leg pants, pick the one that is low-waist. Show off your slender legs through a shift dress or a high-waist circle shirt.
Since your hips and lower body are bigger than your upper portions, mix and match some colors with tops that are lighter and bottoms that are darker. Don a structured jacket with its ends that is just above the waist. Match this with an A-line skirt or flared jeans. Draw attention to your upper body through an off-shoulder dress.
With wide shoulders, tone down attention from your upper body to your midsection through dresses that will provide a semblance of a waistline. You can opt for full skirts, pants that are wide in the leg area or bottoms that are bright in color.
These are the slender type with the shoulders, waist, and hips that have almost similar widths. As you don’t need to conceal other body sections, show off your legs and arms. A V-neck or a scoop neck blouse or a top with collars or ruffles can create an illusion of a curve.
Sometimes it is inevitable to start snacking or munching on foods. It’s not bad as long as the foods that we reach out for are healthy, will keep you full and will address your cravings at the same time. Here are some of our favorite snacks that you can eat without the guilt.
#1 Fruits. You can never go wrong with this healthy choice. Fruits can fill you up, satisfy your cravings for sugar but it will not load you with calories. If you are on-the-go, you may want to bring fruits like apples, pears or oranges that you can just wash and eat. Or if you have time, you can slice fruits and berries and make a salad that you can take with you at your office.
#2 Trail Mix. It is a combination of dried fruits and nuts that you can take with you anywhere you go and it’s ready to eat. Just get a serving of trail mix and put it in a ziplock bag or a small container and you’ll be good to go. This is perfect if you just want something too much while you’re writing an article or you’re doing errands but do not have time to sit down and grab a sandwich.
#3 Healthy Snack bars. Protein bars, energy bars, these are some of your options. You can either get one at your local grocery or make your own at home. Besides there are recipes available online. When you do get them from the store, pay attention to the amount of carbohydrates and sugar in that bar.
#4 Yogurt. A cup of yogurt is perhaps one of the easiest and healthiest snacks that you can just grab especially if you are craving for ice cream. Yogurts are rich in protein and you can even add your favorite fruit on top.
#5 Veggies. Slice a few carrots and celery sticks and dip them in hummus instead of those ready to eat dips that you get in the grocery store. These are great if you are craving for something crunchy and munchy.
You may be starting out a new exercise plan or a diet plan and sometimes the results are not as immediate as we want it to be. But it’s ok. If there are certain parts of your body that you are not comfortable about and you want to appear thinner, you can always do something with the clothes that you put on. That’s right, you can actually look slimmer depending on how you dress. Here are a few ideas to get you started today.
Use Well Fitting Underwear
You may think that underwear cannot be seen anyway, so why bother? On the contrary, your underwear is your foundation. The fact is, around 80% of women out there are wearing the wrong bra size. Keep in mind that a good fitting bra can make your waist appear more defined. If you are unsure of what your bra size is, have yourself fitted by a professional.
You can also consider investing on shape wears because they help smooth the unwanted bulges and it keeps everything in. No matter what dress you wear, you will know that you will look leaner.
Black Is Best
This is perhaps the most common advice that you hear but it really does work. Black can make you appear thinner and skinnier. You will also get the same effect if you wear dark colors aside from black like navy blue.
Just like wearing black, donning clothes with vertical stripes is also one of the most common. Vertical stripes can make you longer as opposed to wearing horizontal stripes that can make you appear wider than you already are.
Go For Monochromes
Get this look by wearing the same color from top to bottom. This will make you look thinner because it draws attention from top to bottom instead of from side to side.
It’s All About The Fit
Always pay attention to how the clothes fit on your body. Do not force yourself into fitting into a size 4 if you are a size 8. Size is nothing but a number. Wearing clothes that are one size too small or too big will only make you look bad.
Dressing up can be fun and enjoyable if you know what kind of body shape and type you have and you know which clothes will flatter your body. Knowing what your body type is just the key to everything. The easiest way is to do this is to look in the mirror. Otherwise, what you can do is take out the tape measure and measure your body.
Having a triangle body shape means that you have a slender upper body with a full hips and a trim waist. Think about using layers at the top or wear cropped jackets. A-line cut dresses will also work for you.
Those with circle body shapes usually have full figure with slender legs and a slight shoulders. Draped fabrics work best for this body type and if you have great legs, don’t be afraid to flaunt them.
Women with hourglass figure have slim waist, ample bossom and curvy hips that everyone is dying for. If you have this body type, keep your look simple. Pencil skirts will accentuate your curves and so does skinny jeans. For dresses, choose one that naturally follow your curves.
Ruler body shape women are often the athletics ones. If you have this body type, choose clothes that will create curves. Halter tops will be perfect for you so does tank tops with small straps. As for your bottoms, try the high-waist pants or wide leg trousers.
If you have an inverted triangle shaped body then most likely your top is bigger than your bottom. V-necks works best for this body type. You can wear wide long skirts or a drop-waist dress.
Different body shapes have different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. It is up to you to use them to your advantage. When you choose clothes, do not just look at fashion. Also pay attention to the fit of the dress so you look good and feel good.
Many women suffer from stretch marks. And while men suffer from stretch marks also, it seems to happen more often on women for reasons such as our breasts growing too quickly during puberty or pregnancy. Many of us don’t mind our stretch marks as they are nothing to be ashamed about and are a normal part of life. They are so common! However, there are also many women who do like to cover up their stretch marks as often as possible.
Sometimes it can be difficult to choose something to wear that covers up your stretch marks and looks good at the same time. This of course depends on where your stretch marks are and how severe they are.
You can usually find the right dress for your stretch marks. If you have stretch marks on your upper arms, there are many dresses you can find which are a v – neck and have long sleeves. If you have stretch marks on your bust, you can still wear dresses which are sleeveless but they need to be higher in the bust area. It is more difficult to find a dress that suits those with stretch marks on their bust and upper arms. Often winter dresses are more appropriate here. It really depends on how comfortable you are with your stretch marks.
Now, when most of us who have stretch marks think of bathing suits, we think no way! And then we think, well ok maybe a full one piece suit. But they often don’t have any style. Is there another option for a bathing suit that will actually look good at the sametime as hiding stretch marks? Well yes there is. There are nice 2 piece suits that actually look great and hide your stretch marks. That is if you have stretch marks after pregnancy. The bottoms of these bathing suits are a fair bit higher than regular ones so it actually looks like a fashion statement rather than you are hiding something. This is a great option if you have looking for a 1 piece alternative.
